MY TRIP TO SWEDEN

Hello Friends,

How are you all feeling the few nights before Halloween?

I have to admit that I haven't even decorated the house yet. What a shame!

However. I have a nice excuse to make - I was in Sweden!

It was a quite short business trip, but it was my first time in Sweden so I had to absorb as much of the whole experience as possible.

The weather was not the best, it was raining most of the time, but the nature was amazing. The trees were so colourful that they almost made me forget that I don't fancy this time of the year that much.

I was not able to take many pictures as I was quite work-busy for most of the time, but I managed to do what a good traveller should do - see, smell, taste, hear. After all, what is more valuable than a collection of pictures is the experience you receive and which is only and only yours.

I would like to share with you some of the experiences, my observations, likes & dislikes from this fun trip to Sweden.

1. As I already mentioned the nature was amazing. So many lakes, forests and beautiful colours. Next time I go to Sweden I wish to enjoy it even more and go hiking or take a ride on a ferry and explore all the interesting Swedish islands. I stayed in a town called Norrkoping which used to be a factory town and it is divided by a river. There were many picturesque bridges, old houses and secluded places and it was very nice to take a walk around the town.

3. The food was superb! The portions were huge and in most of the restaurants we went to, they served free salads, drinks and even a cake. That was something new for me to experience and I really liked it. I tried traditional Swedish meatballs (very different from the ones they serve in IKEA), some seafood, salmon for breakfast and a lot and a lot of sweets. :-)

4. People were very friendly, helpful and they all spoke English. Also, every time I wanted to cross a street a car stopped. I got so used to crossing the street without much of an attention that when I came back home I almost got smashed by a car on the first crosswalk just because I forgot to check the road first.

5. The language might sound a quite funny for some people, but I grown to like it. I actually think that I will start learning it when I have the time. "Hejsan Hoppsan" :-)

6. I once again had the opportunity to fly in a plane. I flew with SAS (Scandinavian Airlines), KLM and Czech Airlines. The flight with KLM was absolutely amazing. It was a small plane and I was sitting in the back, yet the plane was not shaking a bit. We also got a free sandwich and a drink and arrived to our destination 15 minutes earlier than we were supposed to. What a delight!
Flying with Czech Airlines was, on the contrary, not that comfortable. The landing was quite shaky and please, please never buy any food or a drink on the board. All the goods they sell are ridiculously expensive!

So those are all the things that came to my head now when thinking back about my trip.

Let me know where was your last travel to and what did you like the most about it.

I will talk to you again soon!

Julie xoxo
